Product Development History

ITS, Inc., is the product of a very defined evolution of technological improvements, created out of necessity for equipment capable of high production, in extremely challenging soil conditions, prevalent in the region JABAR Corp, Inc. was located, and desired to become a proficient pipe bursting contractor.  The desire for a reliable, fast, and heavy duty for extreme conditions system culminated into a static pull box that began with steel plate, and added the following components to evolve into  superior pipe bursting equipment.

– Improved Grab Device, Patent #6,129,486 filed 1998.  This was first patent for ITS, Inc.  Patent consisted of Grabs, Grab Housing, and Grab Spring.

- Increased Size of Hydraulic Unit for Strength and Speed with less effort.

– Changed Spring Plate design.  Increased strength of Grab Housing making it reversible to push or pull rods.

– Made Continuous Pull Box which doubled speed of Pulling Patent # 6,357,967 B1 filed in 2000.  2nd Patent – Continuous Pull w/2 cylinders.  The revolutionary Stored Energy Head w/spring and Hammer.  Put  Back Grabs in Pull Box to overcome pipe stretch.  Made cylinders shorter to shorten up Box length ultimately creating the Shorty Box.

– Created Stored Energy head to Pipe Burst Larger Diameter Pipe and Extremely Challenging  Upsize or Construction Execution projects.  These problems are all about, but not limited to the following phenomenon being concrete encapsulated pipe, pipe inside steel casing, or hard ground conditions.  Patent #6357967 B1 filed 2000, 2nd Patent.

– Changed Head design for easier pipe bursting results by Elongated Cones, Counter sunk mounting screws, offset screws for additional mount stability.  Put swivel in front of bursting head for easier hook-up.

– Made Cable Pull in MH w/beam.  Pulling into MH w/cable Patent #6.672,802. B2 filed 2002, 3rd Patent.

– Made Main Line Cable Pull.  Patent #6.854,932 B2, filed 2001.  4th Patent.  Made Grabs longer so not to damage cable as much.  Made Tandem Pulling on Cable and Rod Machines.  Patent #7.025,536 B2 Filed 2004 5th Patent

– Put the Spring and Hammer in one unit instead of 2 separate units.  Can be used with rod machine or cable to MH.  Patent pending applied Oct. 2005.  6th Patent.  Put winch pull design w/pulley as backhoe boom mounted unit for pulling 4” and 6” service laterals.   Bursting head size held to minimal for reduced pull back pressure.

– Applied hammer w/stored energy head for smaller diameter pipes being 4”, 6”, and 8” w/Bellview washers.  Made apparatus where hammer propels itself, with Belleview washers applied.  Performed Directional Bore with Eclipse Head for on grade pilot hole, then a pull back with ITS, Inc. Pulling machine for carrier pipe installation. New Double Head configuration greatly improves pull back pressures.  Patent Pending.  Filed in July of 2007.  7th Patent.

– Changed Square Box to L Shape Box.  Put channel on sides for guides instead of tubing.   Changed design of Grab Holder Bowl, to give more room to set Grabs.  Easier set up.  Started on Ultra Shorty Pull Box for Service Lines to Right of Way, or private property.  Scheduled for release in 2007.

– Work in Progress
